Family Finding
If you could reunite a lost child with a caring family member, wouldn't you?Stanford Home does this every day.
Permanency and family connections are paramount needs for children and a top priority for Stanford Home. All too often children enter the state's child care system and move from placement to placement – losing precious connections to family ties. When possible, we want to reunify every child that comes to us, without a connection to any family, with loving biological family. This regained sense of family provides hope and promise for a brighter future.
Because of our unrivalled success in finding permanent, loving families for our kids, we need to find and certify 50 new permanent families each year. Finding a family member for each child means 150 hours to conduct a nation-wide relative search, seek permissions, obtain required safety clearances, and provide support to nurture the new connection.
Family reunification can be a long and difficult struggle, but every child deserves their own home and their own family.
