Children and Families’ Holidays Brighter Thanks to Hundreds of Community Partners
Stanford Home thanks its community partners for generously donating holiday gifts, gift cards, art supplies, food, sheets, pillows, and blankets to our children and families. In total, more than 100 local businesses and individuals gave more than 1,000 items, with a total value of nearly $20,000. We also wish to thank the dozens of community volunteers for tirelessly sorted and wrapped gifts. Because of this outpouring of support, Sacramento’s children and families with many of the greatest needs in our community experienced the joys of the season with food on the table, warmer beds, and enjoyed holiday gifts together.

More than 20 local businesses give holiday presents to foster children
November 1, 2008 – December 25, 2008
Each child in Stanford Home's foster care program received gifts this holiday season thanks to the support of 22 local businesses, organizations and individuals. In addition to holiday gifts, children served by Stanford Home often are in need of basic practical items such as bedding, clothing and toiletries. To meet these needs, participants purchased toys and gifts, collected new bedding and homemade blankets, set up collection boxes in their offices, and conducted drives for gift cards to grocery and department stores.
