Congress Encourages IRA Gifts by People Over Age 70 ½
A new law says that people age 70 ½ and older can instruct IRA trustees to make transfers up to $100,000 to non-profit organizations they support without incurring taxable income on those amounts. This perk will only exist for the remainder of 2007. Don’t miss this limited opportunity!

“The change means that IRA owners, required to take a minimum distribution, can send the money directly to a charity without increasing their tax burden,” says Steve de Graaf, Stanford Home Charitable Financial Consultant. “It’s an opportunity to give to your favorite charity, and satisfy the distribution requirements of your IRA.”

For more information on IRA transfers or Legacy Gifts, please contact Steve Horton, at (916) 344-0199 or shorton@stanfordhome.org.
